Our beloved son, Jasen Scott Halliday, 39, died suddenly to be with his keeper our Lord Jesus Christ as of December 5, 2016. Jasen was born September 6, 1977 in Daytona Beach, FL to Heidamarie (Heidi) Popwell and Scott Stuart Halliday.
Jasen spent most of his young years on his Granddad and Grandma Popwell’s farm in Holly Hill (HH), FL. Oh how he enjoyed the farm playing with his cousins and friends. His beautiful smile and big heart would light up any room and all those around him. Christmas was his favorite time of year mostly to celebrate the birth of Jesus; but he truly enjoyed decorating and spending time with all off his family. Filled with so much love and life, he enjoyed karate, BMX, skateboarding, scuba diving but his passion was Motorcross riding. He was a member of the Daytona Dirt Riders and loved participating in the Enduro races. Thanks to his Uncle Garth, Jasen and Melinda received the pleasure of going to Daytona Beach International Speedway Dirt Bike races and Pit Passes, meeting his favorite Champion rider, Jeff Ward, receiving his autographed Jersey...he was so excited! Jasen enjoyed all kinds of music particularly rock and roll. He loved going to concerts with his Dad landing him autographed T-shrts and back stage passes with bands such as Pat Travers, Foghat, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Lover Boy, and one of his favorites Ted Nugent.
By the age of 15, Jasen moved to Jacksonville (JAX), FL where he met Melinda Clotfelter his one and only true love and the Mother of their daughter, Katlynn “the light of his life” and raised his precious dog Lilly. This is also where his Dad taught him the trade and art of auto painting. He was truly gifted and well known for his custom painting and restoration in Daytona Beach and JAX. Some of his greatest achievements included painting the Lynyrd Skynyrd tour bus and Richard Petty replica race car at Daytona Beach International Speedway. His paint work was published in magazines for classic car restorations as well as custom motorcycle painting including landing himself in Fact-O-Bake commercials. Although Jasen worked for many Automotive Paint & Body Shop’s, his home was at Oscar’s Paint & Body Shop, JAX, FL.; they were his work family and he loved them so.
Jasen’s beautiful smile, big heart and love for his family and God will always be remembered. You will always be your Mom’s “Sweet little boy”.
