Kent Morton passed away peacefully on September 6, 2017. Kent was born April 26, 1945 in Bowen, IL to the late Carlin and Luella Morton. He spent his career as a journalist for more than 40 years. His passion was storytelling – from hosting a radio talk show in high school, to reporting for Armed Forces Radio in the Army, to being a television reporter, anchor, producer and manager in Illinois, Alabama, and Florida. He spent more than half of his career at WESH TV in Orlando, FL. Stories were an everyday part of his life even outside of work. One of his favorite storytellers was Garrison Keller, who spun tales of Lake Wobegon each Sunday on public radio.
Kent is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Paula, brother Bruce, daughter Jennifer Roberts, son-in-law Will Roberts, and grandchildren - Carlina Grace (11) and Eldon Morton (8) Roberts.
