Frank Morgan, age 79, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Stewart Meyer Hospice, Palm Coast.
Born Dec. 28, 1938 to the late Frank and Lillian (Newcomb) Morgan, he was a third generation Holly Hill resident. He attended Mainland High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1956 at the age of 17 ½. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
His varied careers included Dale Woodward Funeral Home, City Provisioners (now U.S. Foods where he met his wife Georgia) and 10 years at the Flea & Farmer’s Market. He ran his own business, Morgan’s Niche, for 20 year. Frank was Chief of Tribes in YMCA Indian Guides when his boys were young. His CB handle was Big Mullet. Frank loved to fish, do woodworking, NASCAR and spending time with his family and his beloved dog Woody II. He also loved playing Santa Claus for several employers and Georgia’s sorority. Over the years he gathered memorabilia relating to Holly Hill, which he donated to the Holly Hill Museum.
Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Georgia; sons Nicholas Pratt (Kathie), Michael (Kirsten) and Jonathan (Stacey), grandchildren Nicholas Jr., Lauren, Dane, Mason and Abigail and great-grand daughter Marcella along with nieces and nephews.
As per Frank’s request, there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach.
